Wine tourism activities

Six wine tourism activities to understand and share the beauty of wine
More than a simple drink, wine is part and parcel of our culture and society. It is a symbol of good times shared with others, history and tradition. Villa Baulieu offers six different ways to discover wine tourism to anyone who wants to understand and get to know the estate and feel the terroir with all their senses.

All these services come with a Prestige room and guests are greeted on arrival with two gourmet gifts , both produced on the estate : a bottle of wine and a bag of almonds.

The estate

The Mediterranean

Six ways to discover wine tourism and understand and share the beauty of wine
The Villa Baulieu vineyard is four parcels of vines forming a 12-hectare enclosed vineyard among the 170 hectares of vines within the Beaulieu estate. Nestled in an oval crater in the Forest of Trévaresse, a volcano formed during the Miocene 17.5 million years ago, it overlooks the Durance Valley at 430 metres altitude. In addition to the clay-limestone soil, a large part of the vineyard is covered in basalt-rich volcanic earth which has become the cornerstone of the wines’ typicity.

Just as major fashion designers and luxury craftspeople call on the skills of talented assistants to sew and assemble, each gesture, each action performed at Villa Baulieu shapes and brings out the best of the fine wines of Provence. Firm, well-ripened bunches of grapes picked by hand, painstaking vinification in small vats adapted to each vintage... the sheer effort that goes in to produce Villa Baulieu white and red and Cuvée Bérengère red and white has earned the wines a reputation for excellence among the most selective wine lovers and influencers.

Twenty hectares of agroforest land have been recreated along the Concernade, a river with its source on the estate, flanking the crater.

Eight hectares of almond trees whose nuts are used to make the famous Aix calissons,  five hectares of truffle oaks, not to mention olive trees and fig trees, complete the produce grown on the Beaulieu estate which shape the typical landscape in this corner of Provence.
